NSW:Don't remove NSW school heaters: report

Greens MP JOHN KAYE has called on the New South Wales government to ignore recommendations
in a report that suggest unflued heaters in schools don't need to be replaced.

Mr KAYE says the valuation of children's health by the report is "highly offensive".

He says says it's a betrayal of parents, a betrayal of science, and a betrayal of the
commitment made by the coalition, when they were opposition, to get rid of unflued gas
heaters.

The report, commissioned by the former NSW Labor government and released by Education
Minister ADRIAN PICCOLI today, is unequivocal in calling for the unflued heaters to be
retained, despite concerns about the health impact on children.
