Fed: ABC settles with Packer over defamation case

The ABC has settled a six-year defamation claim by media mogul KERRY PACKER over a
Four Corners program.

ABC corporate affairs director GEOFF CRAWFORD says the national broadcaster still stands
by the Packer's Power program.

He says the program was an important investigation into casino licensing and business
transactions involving companies associated with Mr PACKER.

Mr CRAWFORD says the ABC makes no apology for the broadcast and does not retract any
of its content.
