Qld: Heavy rainfall, flooding in north Queensland

Heavy rain has hit north Queensland .. with several rivers breaking their banks between
Cairns and Mackay.

The rain's been heaviest around Townsville .. where Racecourse Road on the city's south
has been closed.

Sections of the Bruce Highway .. between Townsville and Ayr .. are closed and flood
warnings have been issued for the Tully .. Murray .. lower Herbert .. and Haughton rivers.

The weather bureau's expecting the rain to continue for the next two days.
